I can’t quite believe that another year has already shot past, and what a treat it’s been looking back through the galleries of the many absolutely wonderful weddings I’ve had the pleasure of photographing. I’ve taken the opportunity to pulling together a few of my personal favourites – they’re the ones which first came to me as I thought back over 2017, or which leapt out as I scanned through. Sometimes it’s the image itself which stuck with me; the colours, the composition… and then with others it’s more about the memories they brought back; a particular moment or couple, something which put a smile on my face… And ultimately I believe that’s what a large part of wedding photography should be all about.
A couple of things which stood out to me as I thought back over the last twelve months. I can confidently say that this is the wettest year of weddings I can remember. Wow – we had a lot of rain! I don’t recall a single couple letting the weather in any way spoil their day though, and it’s given us some pretty special photos too. So take heart, future brides and grooms, if you wake up on your wedding day and the clouds are rolling in. I’ve been to some absolutely superb new venues, and returned to some old favourites… there have been some pretty spectacular, quirky and intimate venues, but every time it’s the photos of the people I keep coming back to. I’ve seen a lot of smiles and laughter this year – loads of fun, relaxed couples and wedding guests. I’ve also had the pleasure of working with several other fantastic photographers, so I’d like to express my thanks to all those who joined me at a wedding this year as a second photographer.
And thanks to all those who’ve been keeping up with my work on the blog and on my Facebook page. A lot of the photos you’ll see here are appearing on these pages for the first time as I’ve still got so many left to blog from the last few months. So the good news is that you can expect to see many more still make an appearance in the weeks and months to come, as we head into what promises to be a very exciting 2018. Happy New Year everyone!
Congratulations to all those couples who got engaged over Christmas and the New Year – exciting times ahead! If you are now planning your 2018 wedding and would like to know more about my wedding photography services, packages and prices, please do get in touch to check availability and ask me any questions you might have. I’m only too happy to help however I can.
Thanks as ever for reading, and come back again soon for many more photos from many more beautiful weddings!
