Well here we are then: 2017 is upon us. I can’t wait to get stuck in – the creative juices are flowing already when I look forward to some of the amazing venues I’ll be at and the couples I’ll be photographing in the coming months, but before that there’s one final little task for me to perform, and what a pleasant little task it is; a quick look back at the year just gone and the weddings I was privileged to cover.
So many highlights, so many wonderful people (and so many photographs taken!). I’ve been out and about, across the country and up north. There have been sunsets, downpours, rainbows and blue skies. I’ve ticked some fantastic venues off my list of places to shoot: breathtaking Milton Abbey in Dorset, the very funky Islington Metal Works up London way, and the viewpoint at the top of Box Hill spring to mind in particular.
But really it’s all about the people, and 2016 was an absolute cracker on that front. I’ve loved that so many couples and their guests have stayed in touch and come back to see what else I’ve been up to through the blog and on my Facebook page. I’ve really loved meeting up again with past clients when I’ve been covering their friends’ weddings, and I’ve also had the good fortune to work with many other really fantastic photographers, both those second-shooting for me and those who I have been able to work alongside as second photographer at their own weddings.
So to wrap up the year, here are just a few of the images which jumped out at me as I looked back at the last twelve months. Huge congratulations and massive thanks to all those couples who did me the honour of choosing me as their photographer last year, and my warmest wishes to all my 2017 couples as we enter the year that you’re getting married.
Bring it on, 2017 – I’m ready!
