A beautiful summer’s day for Emma and Adam’s wedding photography, at St Peter’s church in Bishop’s Waltham followed by an absolutely awesome tipi marquee reception deep in the Hampshire countryside at Holden Farm near Winchester. This one’s going to be a big old blog post I’m afraid as the whole day was beyond superb and I allowed myself to get rather carried away with the cameras! No matter, it just means even more lovely photos to look at…
Emma was returning to the family home in Bishop’s Waltham, with the ceremony taking place very locally at St Peter’s Church. Local enough to be easily walkable in fact, but who’s going to walk in all that blazing heat when you can rock up in hot-off-the-press shiny new Jag? While bride and bridesmaids did all the usual making up, drinking champagne and taking turns holding the ridiculously cute flower girl, Adam and his entourage were busy bombing around the back roads between church and reception venue, applying those crucial last minute finishing touches. Happily I was able to catch him at the church for a few pre-ceremony photos just as the first of the guests began to arrive…
Freshly married, it was back out into that beautiful, blazing Summer sun for hugs and confetti (and then quickly back inside again for some family group photos as it was soooo hot and bright out there [I always feel that those gorgeous church interiors are often rather overlooked anyway when it comes to their group photo potential so it’s nice to make the most of them occasionally]) and then on to part two… the celebrations.
Emma & Adam had put a whole lot of work into their day and so much of the reception had their personal stamp on it. They did an amazing job, and what a party it turned out to be! A huge great tipi wayyyy out in the countryside, in a field on Holden Farm near Winchester. (It actually sits bang on the South Downs Way and every so often someone looking enormously hot and bothered would stagger past, taking part in a race which had started down at the Brighton end earlier that morning, the fools). The location was heavenly, and the reception itself was an absolute corker. I’ll just give you the briefest of highlights here so that we can get back to the photos: afternoon tea, hog roast, the appearance half-way through of their insanely excitable pup, golden sunshine, sunset, hog roast, guests DJ-ing the evening party themselves… and a hundred or so guests who were without question in a full-on party mood!
Incredible wedding, and so very fitting for an absolutely fantastic couple. All that hard work paid off, Emma & Adam. Massive congratulations to you both, and wishing you many very happy years together.
