An afternoon’s couple portrait session in and around Winchester, a post-wedding shoot I guess you could call it. Sita & Jared made contact earlier this year about a couples portrait session. They had actually married a little while ago but hadn’t taken official wedding couple portraits at the time, so they were looking for an opportunity to get together in front of the camera, making the most of a few different locations which really fitted their tastes. What a fantastic afternoon’s shooting this was. We’d discussed a few options in advance and in the end they chose to make a day of it with a visit down to Winchester, so that I could whisk them around a few of my choicest spots in the area and really give them the tour. On the wish list: greenery, water, wide open spaces and some old buildings for good measure. As any wedding or couple portrait photographer who’s photographed around these parts knows, these Winchester and its surrounding countryside can offer in abundance.
Turns out you can cover quite a lot of ground on a couple portrait shoot when you’ve got a photographer with local knowledge who can also act as chauffeur between locations.
As you’ve probably noticed, the full wedding dress came out again for this shoot (and Sita caught a few double-takes strolling out of the pub loos in white wedding gown shortly after stepping in wearing jeans) but if you’re tempted by the idea of a separate couple portrait session after your wedding – perhaps so that you can really relax into it away from the time pressures of the main event, or to maximise your scenery and location options if there’s somewhere really special you couldn’t get to as part of your wedding day – well whatever you fancy we can do, really. If you’ve got some ideas of what you might like then please feel free to
to discuss and we’ll see what sort of a bespoke session we can put together. I don’t tend to promote them much on this website as the focus is largely on the wedding side of things, but portrait sessions – couples and families – are most definitely available. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this little set – something slightly different – and do please come back soon to see what else I’ve been up to.
