White Horse Hotel Wedding Photographer

I love being a recommended White Horse Hotel wedding photographer. It always has such a classy, boutique hotel kind of vibe to it and the excellent Stables – the stand-alone function space at the rear of the hotel which is usually where wedding receptions are held – has party written all over it. Throw into the mix the beauty of the market town of Romsey and the many gorgeous little photo locations dotted around it, and you’ve got all the ingredients for a stunning wedding and celebration.javascript:;

Overview:

The White Horse Hotel & Brasserie sits bang in the heart of the Hampshire town of Romsey, and boasts an extremely popular restaurant among its many features. It’s superb as a wedding venue; after a big renovation it now has a large, exclusive use function space across the courtyard from the rest of the hotel, and it’s here that you’ll most likely enjoy your wedding breakfast and evening party. Your private bar is up on a mezzanine and looks out over all the dancefloor action below.

Being a hotel it’s also of course got the advantage of accommodation, which can be a great help to the couple when they’re getting ready before the ceremony, and to everyone else when they’re all partied out at the other end of the day.

You can have your whole wedding and reception at the White Horse, but it’s also very popular when combined with some of Romsey’s other ceremony options, in particular beautiful Romsey Abbey which is just a quick stroll away.

Photo Opportunities:

The White Horse doesn’t have extensive outdoor space or gardens, but that’s not much of a problem with so much to work with in and around Romsey. Within a couple of minutes walk you’ve got the riverside, many old stone buildings, the memorial park and of course gorgeous Romsey Abbey.And then as an extra bonus, tucked away just behind the White Horse (and reachable through a little short cut) is the hidden gem that is St John’s House and Garden, which has kindly let several of my couples use for photos in return for a modest contribution towards its upkeep. This is a wonderful little spot for smaller group and couple photos.

Inside the White Horse there are plenty of lovely little features to play with, and as a whole it lends itself really well, both inside and out, to a relaxed documentary approach, focusing on guests enjoying themselves and the couple having fun.

Practicalities:

Very easy to find, and there’s plenty on the doorstep for guests too if they need to occupy themselves before the wedding. There’s an excellent public bar and restaurant to make use of as guests arrive and mingle. The White Horse doesn’t have its own dedicated car park, but there is plenty of parking available around the town and just a short stroll away.
