New Place Wedding Photographer

Hampshire’s New Place Hotel is an iconic wedding venue. The very first sight you and your guests will see are those iconic gates – the scene of so many beautiful wedding photos, with the gorgeous house stood behind them. But there’s so much more to this magnificent venue that that. Both the interior and the grounds of the main house are just wonderful – traditional manor house charm with wood-panelled rooms, cosy corners, stone fireplaces… and then the beautiful formal landscaped gardens, offering so much variety at every time of year. Top this off with a separate private reception building for your celebrations and you’ve got all the makings of a perfect Hampshire wedding venue.

I’ve photographed several weddings at New Place over the years and it’s easy to see why it remains such a popular venue with wedding couples.

Overview

With a wide range of accommodation, a designated bridal prep suite and a cosy bar to complement the ceremony spaces, reception rooms and grounds, New Place Hotel has everything you might be looking for in an all-in-one wedding venue. The layout means that both sides of the wedding party can start their days here if required without risking running into each other.
The hotel offers a range of ceremony spaces, both indoors and outdoors, meaning that it is well equipped to accommodate a variety of wedding sizes from small and intimate right through to those with over 100 guests.
The Arden Suite is most usually the focus of the celebrations as the day proceeds. Tucked away in a quiet corner of the grounds, with its own private bar and access to the gardens, it’s yours for the wedding breakfast and the evening party.

Photo Opportunities

The beautiful landscaped grounds surrounding the manor house really sing when it comes to your photography. Along with those wider views from the lawn with the house in the background, there are all sorts of hidden corners and quiet spots, framed by flowers and edges, arches and stonework, for your more intimate couple portraits.

The view from the front of the house – taking in those iconic wrought iron gates and driveway leading up to the front entrance – is a classic photograph at New Place, and you can mix this up by making use of it at different times of day and for different set-ups, not least getting creative after darks with lighting and sparklers.

Inside the building think staircases, wood panelling, fireplaces, doorways and windows to gaze out of. The bar area also offers something a little different and can provide a nice backdrop for those less formal photographs.

Practicalities

Just a few miles from the M27, New Place offers easy access to the cities of Southampton and Portsmouth, while more immediately the Hampshire market towns of Bishops Waltham and Wickham provide a number of accommodation options within just a stone’s throw of the venue. Plenty of on-site parking, and a range of leisure options for you and your guests. The venue also boasts a bar and restaurant for those extending their stay.
